Home to renowned American directors as diverse as John Waters and Barry Levinson and boasting a vibrant film community, Baltimore honors its eclectic film scene annually with the Maryland Film Festival. Celebrating a diverse array of film, from feature to documentary to short films, the festival encourages and supports the art of film with screenings at several venues, often hosted by the filmmakers themselves, stimulating dialogue about the issues inherent in the filmmaking process.

Artscape is America's largest arts festival that remains free and open to the public.

The region's premier celebration of the arts featuring continuous musical performances by local, regional and national talent on four outdoor stages, indoor and outdoor visual arts exhibitions, film, theater, the Artists' Market with crafts and works of art for sale, opera, dance, fashion, literary arts activities, street theater and special activities geared towards children, July 16-18, 2010, Friday and Saturday, 12-10pm, and Sunday, 12-8pm.
